We are pleased to announce the Inaugural Common Ground Research Network Publishers Prize winners are Dr. Arianne Rourke & Dr. Vaughan Rees for their book series: Transformative Pedagogies in the Visual Domain.

The genesis for this book series Transformative Pedagogies in the Visual Domain came from the Curators’ observing and experiencing how a fertile field of higher educators were strategically creating visual material to ignite both a knowledge transfer and indeed knowledge exchange, between the educator and the student. One of the advantages of working in higher education is the opportunity to observe the extraordinary variety of pedagogical practices where visual material is an important primary ingredient for promoting an engaging rich educational environment. For the last few years both Curators have identified examples of best practice within their professional network and created a place to publish where an educator can reflect on and share examples of best practice to a wider, critical and appreciative international audience. The curated book series provides an opportunity to showcase the ongoing practice of discipline specific practitioners not only exhibiting, researching and creating outcomes within their main focus but also to contribute to the scholarship of pedagogy about how practice and higher level thought is visually communicated and shaped within a creative learning environment. This inclusive series brings together 18 Editors, 163 practitioners from 21 countries and 98 education institutions from all stages of academia from Early Career Researchers to Emeritus Professors, from beginning teachers to retired educators with many years’ experience who have come together to contribute their inspirational insights for the Transformative Pedagogies in the Visual Domain book series. The Curators would like to congratulate all the editors and authors who have collaborated over the 4-year process and contributed their insightful research and practice to this Common Ground Research Network Publisher award winning book series.
